Either way, that's a bloody nice photo.
the second one was easy to meter,
first take a glas of beer, ore two....
Here you can belive in the leica metering,
tones in the center are importand and will be well done in midgrey.
At the first one it is more difficult,
the center would be to bright so you should step it down,
or if you have, take a spotmetering at a bright side near a lamp on the wall.
You must know how your photo should look like in the print,
I think than it's easy.
A grirlfriend travelling with me uses a Nikon F4 with spotmeter and takes it a such moments.
At the first phote center metering or matrix metering will not work in any case.
