I'm a Voigtlander shooter thinking about making the jump. Samys here in LA has a M6 Classic mint condition they are asking 1500US for. They also have a 50mm f/2 summicron for which they want 900US. It's a .72 viewfinder, which I need as I wear glasses. I am tempted on the body, though I suspect it is a little high (but I have the advantage of having it in my hands and looking at it, rather than trusting the bay).

First question -what do you think?

Second question -- I currently have a CV 21/4 and CV 35/2.5 and an Elmar 90mm -- I assume they would all work fine with the standard screw mount to M adaptor?

Third question -- Leica is doing a promotion right now and I could get in lieu of this a new M7 with a new 50/2 'cron (yes it is a cron not a summarit) for 4700 US. Should i just do that instead.

I was considering a M8, but think I will not stray to the dark side yet . . .

Thanks in advance,
Mark

Those prices seem high to me. M6's sell in the RFF classified for $1100-1200 regularly, and a Summicron-50 should go for around $650, maybe. If you're patient, these will come up for sale here before long, and RFF folks are generally trustworthy and describe their gear accurately.

I wouldn't spend the extra money on an M7 unless you feel you really need the AE. Most folks I know prefer the M6.

Your CV lenses will work fine, but you'll need the right adapter for each:
28/90 for the Elmar
35/135 for the 35mm
and whatever for the 21mm, as no camera has automatic 21mm framelines.

Good luck!
