If you remove the baseplate, there's a small tab that controls the frame counter reset. I think it's under the takeup spool. Use a small flashlight, and you'll spot it right away.
If it's not just a sticky leaver, then you have what is a relatively common M6 problem.
It's also happened to one of mine - I believe that the use of a plastic gear near the actual dial is to blame.
After years of shooting M2 bodies I've just gotten used to the increased tension on the wind lever saying "Time To Rewind!" In low light I can barely read the numbers anyway, even with my reading glasses. I doubt that it'd be worth the time and expense of a "repair".
