M6 on someone's horizon

Hey, I like your work! Nice portraits.

I want this camera, but every time I look at a Leica, I think about how much film and processing that would be for my RF645. Lots. But, surely someone would love this camera because its very presence, use or no use, would fill a burning void in their life.

well, I mean the body. I would consider 1992 relatively new - because it is, but the body looks to be older. But, now that I look at other specimins, I have no real reason to assume that.

The "books" show that M6 production began in 1984. I could be mistaken--but I "think" the very early M6s were made in Wetzlar and had Leitz in the little red dot instead of Leica...fun facts to know and tell your friends...🙂

Exactly right...I have an M6 from the second batch and had one from 1994 - they differed in several such details. Our friend Mr. Gandy has a page that enumerates them in some detail at http://cameraquest.com/m6dif.htm ...my M6 has most of the early characteristics but not all of them. The metering is a bit infuriating in low light - I have to fiddle around to get reasonably close to exposure so that the meter LEDs will light up - but otherwise it's a great old camera.
