Hi out there,
My m6 classic seems to have a pressure plate issue-it's scratching my negs-I've tried thoroughly cleaning the film path as well done a light polishing of the pressure plate w/a jewelers cloth. Still scratching.
Anyone know where to acquire a good used p/p? Have a better fix?

Thanks for looking-

-Also I'm in the market for a m6 ttl, prefer black .72 or .58. Let me know if you have one you'd like to part with.

Are the scratches regular (i.e. long and unbroken)? Then it might be the camera. If they are not then it is most likely a processing problem. It could even be your negative sleeves....

Do you bulk roll film? I've scratched a few rolls by using old cassettes that scratch film as it passes by dirt/particles in the felt light trap.

I had the same problem with an used M6 I bought many years ago. I called Leica and bought a replacement PP. I believe it was btw $100-$200 and they were nice enough to ship me instructions on how replace it myself.

Yes, that seems like the rout I'll have to take
Have you actually identified the scratchy bit on the pressure plate? (I wouldn't want to buy a new one myself until I was sure I'd identified the source of the scratching).
