M6 related questions

Just received my M6. couple of dumb questions but its my first M.

1) is there an online manual? or a pdf with instructions? i am afraid that i might just break something!

2) is the plastic tip on the film winder supposed to be loose? as you wind the film, the plastic tip pops out a bit.

But apart from that, sweet mother of god that RF patch in the VF is something else!

Yes, plastic tip is supposed to be loose. Makes it possible to keep it flush with the back of the camera and still easily activate the lever. Otherwise it is a bit close to the flash shoe. Of course, it is also viewed by some as an unnecessary "improvement". The old all-metal lever worked just fine.

Congrats on your camera. Not much you can do to it that can't be repaired. Just remember to put the strap around your neck and you should be fine. And have fun. 🙂

Congrats to your first M !! 🙂 Funny thing is, the M6 was my first Leica, too and I had exact the same question about the plastic tipped advance lever 😀
