The bubbles are really minuscule, visible only under close inspection. The scuff mark on the bottom plate is equally minor. I'm not bemoaning the imperfections, just irritated that the seller failed to mention either. The photos he posted were equally unrevealing. I corresponded with the seller prior to making the purchase and conveyed my interest in the camera for its stated condition.
My overall feeling is that the seller is an honest, upstanding fellow and could have easily overlooked these tiny blemishes. The camera is very much in "mind condition" and as represented, even if I expected (and paid for) a higher grade thereof. Its grown on me - if that can be said of a camera.
Now the lens -
Still bobbing around in the back of some mail truck. I didn't think international post from the UK would take quite so long.

Thanks for the encouragement! Yes, its quite a leap from SLR to RF. I suspect progress will be slow and steady. I am grateful for such a thriving community to which one can turn for answers and support.

Now where did you say I could find that "left over" $3,200.00 ??

I can't seem to spot any patterned price difference between the M6/TTL models. I would guess that it depends on the number/type of bodies selling on a given day. The stated prices were those observed when I was perusing (okay, maybe 'salivating over' would be more accurate) the auctions.

I *love* my FM3a and plan to continue using it, albeit after a short sabbatical; if I don't force myself to use the RF I'm afraid I'll always revert to the safety and confort of my beloved SLR. Some differences that jump out from the Leica when compared to the FM3a: the brightness of the VF and the virtually inaudible shutter sound.
