Okay,
Having never owned a rangefinder, much less a Leica, I am seriously considering purchasing an M6 TTL Titanium model with brown leather. Pricey when compared to my F3. Not so pricey compared to my D2H.😛

But, if I'm gonna get into it, I might as well jump in! 😱

This board is a huge wealth of information, so, I have to ask what all I need to purchase with the body besides a normal lens to get started? 😕

Hi Dave:

I owned an M6 Titanium prior to my MP.

It was a great camera. People were telling me not to sell it for the MP as it will be very collectable in the future. I really do not care about that nonsense so I did it anyway and was basically able to exchange almost evenly for an MP at the time...(lucky on both sides of the coin I was)..anyway, I couldnt be happier.

I became so tired about worrying about scratching the d@mn thing so then decided once and for all to get the black paint MP..

Never seen another titanium finish since honestly...they must be rare.

The titanium finish is even more durable than the chrome. They function otherwise the same.

And as I gave my wife the chrome one I bought for myself (her dream camera too), I obviously wanted something different and am into longevity and serious use of my equipment.

At any rate, as to your description, there was no TTL M6 Tit made I don't believe. There was only the same body as the M6 "Classic" with black osterich leather...never heard of brown.

Looked great with black lenses so don't beat yourself up searching for a titanium lens.

Maybe this is something else you've found? Custom job? Can a la carte do titanium?

Post an image if you can...and err...keep us posted too.

Good luck
d

One normal lens, 35 or 50 depending on your preference. There are lenses with titanium finish if you fancy that.

In addition you need film, perhaps a camera strap and maybe a suitable bag, and oh yes, some batteries might be useful since you get one of those newer Leica cameras.

Get as little as possible (except for film) and enjoy!

(BTW, the body shells are made of some zink alloy with titanium surface coating on that one.)

/Håkan
