M7+ 35 + 75 combo. Need your advise

Which pair to choose depends both on how much shooting you do in fairly dim available light, and on how accurately you are able to focus in dim available light. The 35/2 and 75/2 are both excellent lenses. The 75/2 offers an excellent balance of high optical quality, compact size, convenient handling, and reasonable weight, and is excellent for informal available light portraiture. If you don't do much shooting in dim available light, or have difficulty focusing in dim light, the 35/2 and 75/2 will provide all of the speed and quality that you need for most of your shooting. If you do a great deal of shooting in dim available light and really need the extra f/stop to capture sufficient light to make usable images at hand-holdable speeds, the extra size, weight and cost of the 35/1.4 and 75/1.4 might be justified, however.

Yes, Peter, very much! Especially that I have paid only $450 for it. See last picture in my gallery with a view of St.Petersburg at night!

$450? Wow what an excellent price! :) I like your stuff Alex, you have a good eye! I did like the look you got from HP5 in the St. Petersburg (1) shot. I would really love to go back there...

When I had the 35/2 Konica, I found it very very similar in performance to the 35/1.4 ASPH...only a stop slower. It is a great lens and a true bargain. The only reason I sold it was to get the extra stop.

As for St. Petersburg...what a beautiful city! I loved Vladivostok when I lived there, but the beauty of St. Petersburg is hard to beat. Not to mention the museums and churches...my favorite were the Ruskiy Muzey and Isaakovskiy sobor.

The Summilux 75 is a very heavy piece of kit to haul around IMO...

I agree the Lux is too heavy to carry around in any meaningful way. I finally decided to go w/ the 35mm Cron V4 and a M-Rokkor 90mm/4.0. A nice compact kit for daily use.

I found my 75mm Lux way too heavy and didn't like the weak framelines. The 35mm Lux Asph was on the large side as well with its lens shade.

Sold off the 75mm Lux and picked up a 50mm Lux Pre-asph. Besides my 160NC Portra, I carry a few rolls of HP-5 for lower light conditions.

My M7 sports the 35mm Cron and my MP sports the 50mm Summilux.
