M8.2 is $6295

Expoure compensation upgrade is better but still tedious ... try putting your M8 up to your eye, holding the shutter button halfway down, and rotating the command dial on the back of the camera!

Another new feature is a quick exposure compensation setting: When the shutter release button is pushed to the first pressure point, a correction of +/- 3 stops in 1/3 steps can be made with the dial on the back of the camera. The setting is shown in the viewfinder.

it's kind of funny...it's the same basic hardware...especially if you get the upgrades, so all the extra goodness should be available through firmware updates for FREE (at least that's what i'm hoping...i'd really like a few of the firmware goodies like the selective shutter cock and exposure compensation)

Sounds like an awkward procedure when you can easily move the shutter speed dial away from "A" and meter like an M6.

Responding to the request of many professional photographers, the new model has been given an even more inconspicuous design: the Leica dot and the accessory shoe now blend in with the color of the camera. The black version of the camera boasts a new extra durable high-quality deep black finish.
From all the other things, ranging from full frame sensor (new sensor for heaven's sake) to the camera actually working, from all of those wish-list items, THAT was what "professionals" put as their top priority request. :D

FYI, dear Leica marketing department, there is something very cheap and very useful called black electric tape. lol

Exactly ... I had an M7 and the procedure was every bit as senseless and difficult. Leica have chosen to only make changes to the camera that don't require any new machinings or castings.

Oh that's right they had to engrave an 'S' on the shutter speed dial! :p

What I really want to know is the price of the new Summiluxes (Summiluxi? Summiluxae? who here in the forms --forae-- would know the "correct" English version of Latin? ;) )

Now, let's get it out of the way: Nikon is God's gift to Men. And "Canon 50mm f/0.95 Dreamlens LTM". OK. Good. Now, about the 50mm f/0.95 Noctilux:

Anybody got more info?

How cool. The instructions are waterproof but not the camera!

/T

LOL ... standing out in the rain knowing that at least you can still read the instructions for your camera that has just shorted itself out has a Monty Python touch to it! :p

The same dale ( i have no relation to this dale btw ) is listing both summiluxes for 6595 and the new noctilux for 9995. I have no idea whether these prices are made up and dale is trying to make quick buck on hot blooded. hope they are made up and are simply euro/pound translated.

Dale Labs is a very reputable Leica dealer and if he posted the prices, it means those are the real deal. He is one of the top Leica dealers in the US and definitely knows what's going on.

it's not that hard. i like it even better than my original idea of pushing the up arrow for iso, down for exposure comp.
