I can buy a brand new Vespa scooter
And the SUV-crowd will forever, in their infinite wisdom, bark: it has no top! No DVD player! No cup holders! What a waste of SUV, those scooters.

What I really want to know is the price of the new Summiluxes (Summiluxi? Summiluxae? who here in the forms --forae-- would know the "correct" English version of Latin?)
latin pl. Summiluces
english pl. probably Summiluxes
english version of latin ???
german version Summiluxen?
Summiluces vs. Summiluxes; cool. Although, in English, it'd be Summiluxes v. Summiluces.
It's funny how when you use the "correct" version, somebody else using their "correct" version will point out how "incorrect" you are.
Like the people who own a Leica 111 vs. a Leica III.

I have "saved" a lot of money by not using any digital cameras. It is true.
On the other hand, I have also saved lots of money by not driving a new Mercedes.
I have saved even more money by not owning an ocean front villa.
... the list keeps on going and going ...

Oh, no. After months of agonising I was just about ready to unload c.£3,000 in exchange for the current M8. I don't care much about the other 8.2 upgrades, but I really, really want the option of delayed shutter cocking.

Yes he kept a camera in wet conditions in a damp backpack in temperatures calculated to induce condensation. Now that will get moisture inside the camera all over. And it was damaged so much that the whole internals, including the sensor needed to be replaced. How wet do you need for that? And then he tried to claim it under warrantee, where it is clearly an insurance matter.
He is a nice guy and he tried to treat the camera as best he knew, but his luck ran out. The Dutch Leica importer offered him a new camera for the price of the repair when Leica refused warrantee, and even now Leica is looking to see if they can accomodate him in any way.
I guess the end of the story will be that his insurance will pay up.
Jaap - just in fairness, I'm not sure if this is a totally accurate representation of what the gentleman in question has publicly stated - unless you have some other information from elsewhere.

I did read in L-camera forum how a photographer named Tina used M8 through rain, had put this under water. and M8 still worked. It was very impressive. Of course all camera bodies will not work that way but it seems so that she used the camera quite long time during the bad weather.
