M8 & 21 elmarit, 2500, Central Park

Took this last night with the M8 and 21 elmarit in the Central Park Botanical Garden. The b/w version you can see here, but you'll need to click the link to see the color version.

Shot at 2500, 1/180. Slight color correction and curve adjustment in C1. Also, the elmarit is uncoded, hence the vignetting, which I personally like.

The camera obviously has limits but it performs well within those limits. I like the image much. What photoshop work did you do on it if any?

No photoshop work other than resizing. Just C1 adjustments listed above. The image actually contains a lot more subtlety which gets lost due to standardized web color parameters, which can be very limiting.

I took this on the way home. ISO 1250, 1/60, 21 elmarit again.

Spanish Harlem

grantray, the 1st pic does nothing for me. The Spanish Harlem pic is very good however, and it demonstrates the quality it can be achieved with a compact camera. I know if you took it with a DSLR, that guy would have chased after you.

The first image is more about me seeing the branches as marks or brushstrokes on paper, and could have been shot with ANY camera, no doubt. But think calligraphy and you'll get a better idea of where my head was.

This shot is from next to the rink that borders Central Harlem.

For $15 you can buy PTLens. It corrects vignetting well and puts it in if you want darker corners. It also does perspective control and is great for zoom lens distortion correction which is the main reason I purchased it.

It runs stand alone or as photoshop plugin. Best $15 I ever spent.

Ronald: I have an older version of PT Lens (it was free). In my version you have to choose a lens that was used to make the shot. The choices were (I think) mostly Canon and Nikon. Is there now rangefinder lenses supported in PT Lens? If so, I have an M8 on order, and would be interested in using/updating my version, as I will be using non-coded lenses mostly (ZM and CV).
