It rained last night, took a walk with the M8 and J-3 this morning.

Do some J3s have harsher edges to the bokeh than others? Some seem like they have very sharp edges while others look less defined. Brians shots in #11 and #12 seem quite different from #25.

Granted, without knowing the shooting conditions, etc it could all just be situational. I guess I'm anxious as I have a 1962 J3 on the way :) :

That's the thing with a Jupiter-3.... No two are quite the same.

The 1967 J-3 that is used in #11 and 1956 KMZ in #12 are both softer, and have less harsh Bokeh.

The 1955 Black KMZ used here is the sharpest that I've seen. It is made from a 1955 KMZ with a 1980s front element, and set in a Black focus mount. I just picked up a Sonnar-C 50/1.5, and the focus is in exact agreement with this lens on the M8. I think that will be a good test.
