Yes, but rather I rarely turn it 'on' so I guess it's always off. I don't shoot too high ISO so not much need for noise reduction especially with the faster lenses. I don't mind M8's noise anyhow when it's there.
How do you like Aperture?

Hi, 95% of the time I think it is wonderful.
Maybe the Spot and Patch could be a little more flexible, and a vignetting HUD would be nice, and a stronger noise tool .. or options to plug in third party tools so that the results are saved in the side car file?
But the main thing I appreciate.. I went from a Photoshop Phreak .. to doing almost no post camera editing. Hence my workflow improved one hundred times .. and with all the changes saved in a side car file ... less is more hey?
BTW I have sold maybe 8 Macs on the back of my Aperture Demo .. ha ha I wish I was on commission! What are your observations? Any other default settings you use with your M8?

No default settings yet though I should have some by now. There are some things I'd change in Aperture as you've noted like some 3rd party tools that show up on the HUD - that's a great idea. I'll go into photoshop some for a few things. Maybe I don't use the noise tool much because it doesn't have much control and strength but sounds ike you are using it well. I'll give it another go and see what I get.
Overall I'm very pleased with Aperture. I bought it before Lightroom and though I'm sure I would have like LR (did try beta and liked it) I've invested a lot of time in Aperture so it will be hard to start over. I do like how everything is ALL in front of you with Aperture. That's a great concept to get everything in one screen.
Now, waiting for the dual 30" setup.

I'm new here... But I do spend a lot of time on the AUPN site:http://www.apertureprofessional.com/
Most of your Apple Aperture questions can be answered there. BTW, Apple is known to read that site so it's a good place to post wish/wants for Aperture...

Aperture is mainly a DAM (Digital Asset Manager) and workflow tool. It makes RAW as easy to see and use as JPG.
You can make basic adjustments, but PhotoShop still rules!

I use aperture a lot but like the ability to use more color management profiles that photoshop offers (e.g. J. Holmes DCAM 4 is great with the M8). If someone can teach me how to be able to selectively use profiles on some and not all pictures, then perhaps I will not use photoshop anymore.
