M8 and firmware

Hi all.
I am the new proud owner of a new M8 with one 35mm 2.5 Summarit, I have only one lens, for the moment there isn't more money :(
I like the feeling with a ragefinder camera, I like all of this camera, only complaint is the issue with the blacks sometimes. For the moment, I haven't the UV IR filters.
I wish know which is the latest version of firmware of the Leica M8.
I see rare colors, normaly at interiors rooms.

The firmware alone will not change much on black being magenta.
You could find secondhand UV/IR E39 filter for a much more affordable price as a new one.
Next firmware upgrade should be out next September (as for the Photokina).
The SDHC cards should be managed then.
 
You just about need the IR cut filter unless you're only shooting B&W. Then you will have one of the best cameras on the planet!!
I'm in New Orleans at the moment sweating out the heat and humidity with my 2 M8s.

I just got my m8 a couple of days ago. I just wanna tell you that they (Leica) are actually giving you two uv filters for free when you register your camera online.

I already have the last version firmware 1.201
I've a problem with the filter, when do the register at the Leica site the reply of the system is "this number already has been register" I think for other guy.
I'm waiting a reply from Leica with this issue.

Arturo, muchas gracias por tu ofrecimiento, tengo que esperar a ver que me dice Leica con el tema de los filtros, parece ser que otra persona ha hecho el registro en Leica con el nº de mi camara. Menudo rollo, a ver como acaba el asunto.

I assume you bought your M8 used and not new from store. The previous owner probably registered the product already and got the filter's. I think he should have gave you the filter's too.

No, my M8 is new, no second hand, I have the bill, ticket, of purchased.

It only takes a person to incorrectly enter their serial number when they register to prevent someone else from registering that number. As far as I know Leica customer service have always been helpful in this situation.

To the end, the seller give me two filters and he is waiting that the official distributor return its.

Those are never an option once you've selected raw files as your default.
