M8 in IRAQ- A US Soldier and his Leica go to WAR

I like the color- WWII was B&W Iraq is gritty brown, green and black but that is for the GI to decide.

Kodachrome has been the ONLY flim that can accurately resemble what it was like to be there when I captured an image.

Interesting. I still have Kodachromes I shot in Korea in 1953. I also shot a lot of Ektachrome and Fujicolor. The Extachromes, of course, are gone and the Fujis have turned brown. The Kodachromes have lost some of their color oversaturation, and, therefore are, if anything, improved.

Hang in there, Jay. As Stillwell used to say, "Illigitimi non carborundum," which he translated as "Don't let the *******s grind you down." I look at what you guys are doing and I'm so glad I'm retired and not on active duty for this one.

Seeing any war images from Iraq are painful to me. This used to be a peaceful nation living mostly a middle class life in a beautiful country. Now it is a torn up region with horrible scenes,as shown in many images. Still, it is far better to document the destruction of a nation than not to document it. Well done.

It is all good, film, digital, in a combat zone! In the future, he could have these shown at a gallery. The photographer is sharing what life is.....when there is war, whether or not you like it.

Our nephew, a Marine helicopter pilot has just returned from an Iraq stint - safe and sound, thank goodness.
