M8/M9: If you had to just pick 2 lenses, which ones?

My answer is 35 lux ASPH and 75 lux

But I rarely actually carry the 75 lux... on a recent trip threw in a 90/2.8 instead (smaller). Perhaps I need a 75 cron instead. Actually 35+75 cron would work very well for me...

Of what I have with the M9, I would keep the Summicron 28 and the Summilux 75, simply because they are my favorite, and the right length for landscape and portraits.
If I had one more option, I would sell everything else, and get the 35 'lux ASPH...

I would start with the 24mm in order to get the widest lens that has a frameline on the M8. It is still only a 32mm equivalent, so not excessively wide for general use.

25 + 50 on the M8 is pleasingly useful
28 + 50, or perhaps 35 + 75, on the M9.
The 4.5/21 C-Biogon is great on the M8 but not suitable for the M9 due to the optics protruding too much into the box, producing strongly red outer areas. The 2.8/21 Biogon is a better choice there...

The 50mm Summilux ASPH and the 90mm APO-Summicron. As a matter of fact, those are in fact the lenses I carry, along with a 28mm Elmarit.

You've dashed my dreams! :)

Unfortunately I am biased against larger lenses. The 21/2.8 joins the 35/1.2 nokton, zm 18/4, and various other leicas I can't afford anyway as lenses that I would never be totally satisfied with.

Now the contax g 21/2.8 converted to m mount...
