M8 on Reid Reviews

Part One (which is fairly extensive) of my review of the Leica M8 is now online. Part 2 is coming soon. A very, very concise version of the review is also available freely on Luminous-Landscape.

BTW, there is also a page on my site with some general information about other new cameras that Leica is introducing and that page is freely available to anyone. Pictures of the new cameras will be on that page later today.

Jorge's pictures were not fake and I've wanted to say that for a long time but had to bite my tongue.

Cheers,

Sean

i can't log in over there.

Hi Joe,

The site is getting slammed. Even I am having trouble logging in at times today. I'll call my server folks and see if there's a way to open up more bandwidth.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Mango,

Spam? Hardly...virtually everybody on this forum knows about the site already. I'm just telling people that the M8 review is up. Heck, Jorge has a link to the site as a sticky in the R-D1 forum.

Cheers,

Sean

Site overloaded, we're trying to make tech changes to allow for the number of people logging in right now. Thanks for your patience, things may be better now.

Cheers,

Sean

I read Sean's article and as with all your reviews Sean, it is the most complete, balanced and complete on the topic. Bravo! I can't wait to get an M8 now.

Thanks Roger! Site programming was just revised, may handle the traffic better now. My fingers are crossed.

Cheers,

Sean

Sean, can you comment on the accessory grip you mentioned in your review? Is it essentially the same grip that is currently available integrated with a full baseplate or is it something different? Any photos of it?

Mr. Reid:

I have used Leicas for nearly 36 years. The M5 has been my favorite over that time, not because I thiught it was better, but because I like its handling. That said, I enjoyed your review of the M8 and I look forward to getting one.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Richard Hutchison
