Does anyone know if the Noctilux focuses any more reliably on the R-D1 if you use an eye piece magnifier? I'm thinking that might help alot.

How about getting a 35 Nokton for your RD1 ?
And for the rest, say 2 week in Hawaii ?

That's not a bad idea, Ferider. The best way for more interesting pictures in my experience had rather more to do with the subject matter...
I had a Noctilux and an MP. Excellent combo for why I used it. I'd still get the M8 first, though, and save up for the Noc, which would make an excellent portrait lens (again, for my style of shooting).
