Two most frustrated professions are dentists and photographers. First would rather be doctors, the latter-- painters.

My wife has been trying to wiggle out one of my seven year old daughters loose teeth and I own an m-8. I hold my daughters hand while she works on it. So does that make me a dental assistant?

You know what's funny- there have been similar polls at guitar sites and bicycle sites. Apparently, dentists own a lot of custom shop guitars, carbon-fiber racing bicycles and they photograph them with their M8s.

As a dentist once told me- "none of my patients die and none of them are 'cured' of having teeth." That's a revenue stream with a long tail. Or deep roots.

I guess "dentist" as used here means anyone with more disposable income than good taste or skill at anything outside the field of employment. That's likely to describe some RFF members, but I'd not like to think it describes me...

None of the few Norwegian Leica M8 users I know are 'rich'. More typical is that they have an university degree - or more. Or is about to get one. Typical is that they are enthusiasts that give priority to spending this much on their photo gear.

Nor is dentists regarded as rich either. Nor medical doctors. There is plenty of them around since they get their education heavily subsidized by the government. It is an American phenomena that these proffessions are so well payed.

It is the business people that is really rich over here.
