Your BW tones are absolutely beautiful!

Here is a small comparison from last weeks Le Mans 24h - I shot again just with Leica M bodies, but this time a M8.2 and M9 side by side ;-) I love them both - the M8.2 doesn't leave!

There is indeed no difference in resolution, when you still have to slightly crop the shots as of missing reach with the 135mm.
The M9 files indeed need a different sharpening (quite a difference to the M8 files).
The M9 files are incredible at anything higher than ISO 640 and kick serious M8 sensor's a@# - I was not prepared for THAT much of a difference!

A pity, Leica doesn't offer a firmware upgrade, to completely equal both bodies in operation (ISO, set menu, mode dial and format SD card menu).
These cameras work beautifully side by side.

Hey Dirk, congratulations on the M9 😀

Does the M9 render color different than the M8? Or should I say the file is much richer in color when you look at it.

Thanks! Yes, the M9 truly does different colors than the M8 sensor!
You basically can save most of the post processing work, to get false colors straight (which is possible with the M8 most of the time, but labor intense).

I am not much into color, seldom shooting for color, but you directly can see it with the M9 files.

If color is important to a M8 shooter (maybe even paired with a need for wide and ISO above 640), the M9 is in my opinion a true option.
I was of the opinion, that for me as a BW shooter with fast glass the M9 upgrade is not valid the major cost - I was wrong!
 
Thanks! I was fortunate enough to get to see a number of example shots taken with this lens wide open before I bought it. I wasn't sure I wanted it until I saw those but it was a no-brainer after I did.

I really like your B&W conversion on the street shots.
 
Not sure if I have posted this one before. Shot with an M8 and a Voigtlander 75mm f1.8.

I like the grunge look of the untidy alley being used (if you look carefully) for a wedding photo shoot. In the background is Federation Square, Melbourne.

Here is a M8.2 shot from some late color dev - yes, that would be in COLOR, happens once or twice a year with me ;-)

@ Dirk: Thanks, I still can't get over that the 28/Cron + M8 combo can produce so much detail. I've heard that the 28/Elmarit ASPH is even sharper but have not try one myself.

For B&W conversion I usually start with a B&W Creative Selenium Tone preset in LightRoom. Then I would go and reset the Split Toning back to B&W follow by Recovery checking and a bit more Contrast tuning. Most of the time it turns out pretty good.

Nice shot of (original Fiat 500?). Nothing wrong with color shots I do it my self from time to time 😀
