M8 Shipping!?

Check out THIS over on the Leica forum. Someone has received their M8.

You'll be seeing a lot of these soon. I was at a camera show yesterday and ran into one of the owners of the local family-owned camera store; they don't push Leica really hard, but are an authorized Leica dealer.

He told me he had placed an initial order of three M8s, and had just been notified that the first one had shipped and should be reaching him shortly. He has already pre-sold that one, and doesn't know when he'll be getting the others, but he said the rep told him that Leica was making an effort to make sure that each dealer got at least one.

I was told by my dealer today that yes, he expects to receive at least the first of his order (and blessedly, that would be mine...) "in the first ten days of November." So the countdown, it would seem, really is on. He mentioned something about Leica USA working now on the US warranty that will come with it. He was happily surrpised to hear the news that Pascal had gotten his camera from the dealer in Paris. Sounds like it is merely a matter of days now...

I'm giddy thinking that I will have my camera soon while also playing Desert Combat on the other computer. Life is GOOD!
