Genius, pure simple genius.... now let's get to marketing this thing.
Thanks for the link, Olsen.
BTW, I wonder how much trouble it would be for Leica to incorporate electronic, sensor-based image stabilization in the M8/M9? Now, that would be cool.

Utterly amazing. But id best not try it in case it pulls the bottom off my nice shiny repaired M8
Presumably one would need different lengths of string for different heights of photograper (and for different viewing heights). Clever marketing ploy. Maybe there is an upgrade (hopefully not too expensive) with adjustable string length. The inventor is keen to stress that the string should not be stretchy. Now that is a very good point. Lateral shake is still a bit of a problem, maybe a second string onto a tree, door, or volunteer. It might also work as a musical instrument. Just brilliant. I want one.

This is the string mono pod version. The three string tripod is much more stable.

If it were a Leica product it would be made of kevlar and cost $499.

If it were a Leica product it'd be magenta.

Why? Are you going to tie it to your thumb?

And if this original idea takes off, we may see knock-offs from across the Pacific for a few pennies.

If it were a Leica product it would more likely be made of plastic and cost $499.

I think I have finally solved the lateral movement problem. Two strings, one under each foot.

Hello All,
Tried this on my MP, but the camera instantly flips to portrait orientation. Since most of my work is in "landscape" orientation, this does not work for me.

Have you tried it with any other brand? How about a highly collectible camera?

Inner Mongolian ones, fed on sapphire glass, are much more exclusive.
