M9+50mm Summitar

Beautiful!

I also like the rendition of the lens. :D

Maybe a bit backfocused on the first shot? The silhouette of the hair strands looks sharper than the eyes. Not that it would be very obvious.

Could be backfocus? most likely my fault :p

Oh I have seen plenty of film block up the highlights so I would not attribute that to digital or film, just the latitude and process and part of the image. Shoot some slide film and try to get very much latitude. I can see where my old 90mm f4 screw mount, 35mm 3.5 Summaron or Summitar need to be taken out of storage. Would be great fun on the M9.

nice thread, I'm just getting to know my 1940 uncoated Summitar on my RD1-s, and have been daydreaming of what it could do on an M9........ and voila! this thread appears.
Both of your images are great shots in their own respects. What I do like about both of them is the very natural rendition of the subject and the way the lens draws light.
This is one of Sherry Krauter's favorite lenses BTW, she said it is glued to her M5. and feels that this lens in particular garners more of a 3 dimensionality than other "Liker" lenses.
How 'bout some more digital plus Summitar images?
