Have finally gotten a warm fuzzty feeling from the M9. I have owned it about a year and been using it exclusively for the last ten weeks on a trip to Europe. I think I prefer film M's just a shade more due to ergonomics and liking film more but the technology is sure convient for travel.
As Tom A says about the M2, put a 35 on the body with perhaps two small extra lens in your pockets and a few extra rolls of film and you are set for the afternoon. I might say an extra battery in the case of the M9. Do not plan on upgrading and will post a few once I get home from Europe in two weeks.

Likewise, I took a few months to "get it" with my M-E. Purchased in February, it largely sat in my safe until I took it and my M6 on a two week trip in May. I like the photos from that trip but still didn't quite bond with it. A second two week trip in late August sealed the deal, and now I use it constantly. Odd, considering I came to photography with dslr and have no issue with digital, but this camera is quite different. I don't use my dslr much any more except for "scanning" film from the M6!

Explored a new stretch of the TransCanada trail today, with—guess what?—more beaver ponds!

Nine days ago I spotted this in the woods:
(You'll have to forgive me for only having a non-Leica with me that day).
So after a week I went back to check on the beaver's progress, and there was very little left to gnaw:
(Phew! Back to the M9!)
Since it was windy all night I trekked back again today and found the hydroengineering project well underway:
That trunk is about 14" diameter just above the cut, so don't argue with a beaver!
