Hi there,
I just noticed today that my M9 focus patch doesn't quite line up at infinity (lens focus ring at the infinity stop). I checked the images taken today. The ones taken at close distance are sharp, but far distance are not as sharp as I'd like. Is the misalignment of focus patch a direct cause of unsharp at distance? Is there a quick adjustment that I can do on the camera?

A question for Leica users in Toronto Canada: Does anyone know where Reinhold Mueller is ?

Does it do this with just that one lens, or with others as well? Which direction is the error; focusing short of infinity or beyond? If beyond, can you focus back a bit and bring distant objects sharp?

One thing you probably already know is that with the Leica RF, distant objects really have to be very distant for the RF to agree that they're at infinity... like a mile or more.

Doug, the focus is short of infinity. I tested again today by focusing on CN Tower which is 7km away. The focus ring was at the end of rotation, and the focus patch didn't quite come together. It's definitely short of infinity. I tried this with all my 3 lenses, and the results were the same. I also tested my 3 lenses on another M9 body at a camera today, and the focus patch in store's M9 was fine.

Ok, good testing, covering the possibilities! You have the problem nailed down to the camera body needing adjustment. Present this clear evidence to your dealer, and have them take it from there?
