Some good info. - seems the lens 'Manual' entry lets you use any lens in the table without needing coding.

What is gone from the M8 is the ability to detect the lens (via coding) but to specify whether you had a uv/ir filter on or off.

Vignetting is just part of a lens' charm anyway. No need to "correct" it.

Exactly! Someone was complaining that the 35/1.4 ASPH was vignetting on the M9. Well, it vignettes on my MP too!
