M9 sensor corrosion repair for $1k

I still think the M9 is an excellent camera. I seem to use mine more than my M240 (also a nice camera).
I used to tell people that an M9 with original sensor at $800 is a reasonable purchase (considering suitable body condition, etc.) when taking into account the cost of sensor replacement. The service offered by Kolari is actually less expensive than Leica (up to recently), so I still think $800 is reasonable. Less than that is even better.
I also think that the M9 in good condition with the latest sensor installed is worth the typical $2500 selling price (last I looked).
No matter what the market, I'm using my M9 very happily. Its a "working" camera for me and I enjoy it very much.

These days I'm asked if it is film camera. And many are saying how cute it is.

With my rediscover of SS bikes and moving on to FG, my simplest of M9 series M-E 220 is within same style.
But here is no way I'll take this camera with me on my new SS/FG bike. It is better match with old, slow beach cruiser. 🙂.

If I could fine one cheap, with a first version sensor- would get it and send to Jadon to replace the cover glass.

If I see an M9 or M-E with a new sensor at a good price, I would get it. I like the M9 handling and colors.

As of today, Kolari does not do M9 monochrome sensor cover glass replacement. They do M9 replacement, but not for the M9M according to the website. They make a special note about this. It also appears that their M9 replacement is on backorder.

Does anyone/any company do M9 monochrome sensor repair?

Ask Jadon. I’m working on mine slowly and when I have time but will never offer a service even if I can figure it out and it works.
