M9P outfit eBay scam listing

Mmmm, I see what you mean. I buy quite a bit off ebay, geography dictates that, not much choice here. I actually got my Hex 60/1.2 off there which is the most expensive thing I've bought. No way I'd buy something like this from someone with no history.

People may mock Ken Rockwell but he's right when he says don't buy on ebay from seller's with less than 99.5% rating,.

That's a funny one. No feedback, new user, and selling a sewing machine, a quilting machine, a mountain bike and a M9-P. And asking to be contacted directly via email rather than place a bid on eBay. Funny.
no feedback but will cancel any bid because of "too many non paying buyers." What percentage of none didn't pay?

I'm seeing something different. It appears to have sold for $10,099, but the high bidder also had zero feedback so maybe a scammer scammed a scammer? I suspect ebay may find it very difficult collecting their substantial fee.

Cheers,
Dez

The M9-P being sold along with the sewing machine, quilting machine and mountain bike was pulled by the seller for 'an error in the listing'. Maybe because the seller didn't have the item after all, haha. The other items were also pulled by the seller for the same reason.

As for the original listing in the OP, well, that's a $10k bid that's going nowhere.

Somebody is going to get burned bigtime... the fraudulent auction is up to $4900.

So, being the good netizen that I try to be, I decided to call eBay this morning before someone loses their shirt on this. In the past there has been a contact phone number where you can actually talk to a live person who has dutifully taken the info down and forwarded it to the right folks for action. That's worked. And now it appears to be gone. If you search on "phone" in Customer Service help, it describes the method for calling eBay... and those options no longer exist on the menus.

I may be closing my eBay account after twenty years. I guess that eBay doesn't want consumers buying any more.

Roger,

They want you to send an email via the provided web links and then they'll contact you by phone, I believe. I've spoken with them several times recently on issues that dealt with my account.

Yes, there are still links on some types of contacts for that, but nothing for security/safety reporting any more. You used to be able to contact their security folks by phone to talk about specific auctions as I've done that several times in the past, but that's gone now.

The key is just to get to someone on the phone. Then they'll transfer you to the correct person.

I go in through the account line.
