Did you know that if you have an IMac you can call up a blank Word document, enlarge it to full screen (so that you have a blank white surface), crank the brightness, and then, because the IMac has a small ledge at the bottom of the screen, you can tilt it back a bit and use it as an excellent light table for slides? I just put a whole roll of Kodachrome on mine. 😀
 
Or you could just make your desktop all white. Work away in whatever software you're working in and then press F11 and instant lightbox! I usually use a new browser window as well simply because I don't use slide film all that often.
 
ledge? what ledge? I tape my negatives directly to the monitor 🙂
