Jonas, i think the only thing that is missing from a macbook versus the "pro" version is a proper video card. Which is somewhat normal for a small screen; the gma950 works perfectly good.
Otherwise - the processor is not really different, you can go for the bigger HD, more memory and/or DVD burner in the macbook version. Of course the price goes up to the "pro" level, almost.

By the way I solved the startup sound issue with a free little application called "Psst" that turns vol down when shutdown and up when startup finished. Handy.

My issue with the current lineup is actually the size. I'd like something more along the lines of the old 12" Powerbook G4 which, at 4.6 pounds, is still hefty compared to available PC laptops. I'd really like something in the 2-4 lbs range like my Portege's and Vaios... I don't need a big screen on my laptop as long as it can drive a bigger monitor at home, nor do I need to haul around a CD drive for example. A NanoBook?
As for MacBook vs Pro... I actually just want the metal casing. If you go to a store that has MacBooks on display, it seems that both the white and black plastic casings don't stand up well to much handling. And I guess I like the backlit keyboard too....
