Has anyone here ever attended one of these? I got word yesterday that I was accepted for one in May in Toronto with Bruce Gilden. I'm curious to see what others have gotten out of these workshops.

Talk to Renzsu (member here). He just got back from one with Gilden and it seemed like he really enjoyed it!

You're going to be in for a good time. Toronto will be interesting to photograph in :)
I had a workshop with Bruce a week or two ago and had a great time. I ended up doing portraits instead of street photography because I didn't really feel the location (small English town).
Bruce can be tough on you, so make sure you can stand some serious critique and be willing to try something new. He's a great guy though, you'll learn a lot!

I don't mind strong critiquing if it helps me improve. I've never been to Toronto so it should be interesting. Now I have to seriously think about what to shoot.

I have attended one with Nicos Economopoulos in Beirut. It was certainly one of the grand photographic experiences I have had. Nicos is an amazing photographer with a personality to match, so there was much to learn and very pleasant to "hang out" with the man. Besides this, I found the experience of working very seriously every day, morning to evening, concentrating on shooting and nothing else to deliver the results daily. Besides that being surrounded by like-minded people....
All-in-all - worth every cent. I would recommend it without hesitation.

edit: in fact I'm planning on doing it again. Hope to join them in Kosovo end May.
