I got a helios 103 and alas it was made improperly. Its really to bad because it is nearly in perfect shape. What I was wondering is if anyone has any tips on making it work. It will sit in place it just won't lock.
Sometimes the mounting lugs on EITHER the lens or the camera flange can be bent slightly to allow the lens to lock on. Check both first before trying anything. If your body will accept a Jupiter-8 but will not accept the Helios-103 then modify the Helios. You can bend the lugs up or down very slightly with a thin metal object like a Swiss Army knife blade or small screwdriver.
Let me emphasize SLIGHTLY. Too much enthusiasm can result in a seriously damaged lens mount.
