good afternoon!
my problem is as follows> i've just got a revue 400se from the auction site and it turned out to be a dud... aside from the sand and salt particles i found all over inside the camrera (went for a swim?), the automatic aperture system is malfunctioning. let's assume the correct aperture would be 2.8. the needle points this out but when pressing the shutter release (even slowly), the needle 'slides' on the dented cam to f4 or even higher if i press it more rapidly. i've dismantled the camera and after studying the movements for a while i can now say that the first, convex cam is not engaging soon enough (at f1.7 it is not touching the needle when the other, aperture setting cam establishes contact with it) or at all. also, at f2.8 for example, even if it gets in contact with the needle, i believe the force it applies is not big enough to keep the needle locked, so the other cam pushes the needle down and thus sets a wrong aperture.
i've thought about it and can't figure out what to do. the needle seems bent in a roughly _/"\_ shape and maybe that's why the first cam doesn't engage well enough. i'm not too keen on rebending the needle just yet.
i couldn't find a service manual for the revue 400se / vivitar 35es / minolta himatic 7sii / konica s3 either...
any suggestions anyone?
