I was in Moscow for two weeks. To see my parents and get my internal passport renewed. I spend a lot of time on commuting. Walked, took bus, subway (metro), city new just opened train and suburb train.
For pictures I was interested in I used M4-2 with Summarit-M 35 2.5, loaded with AGFA ISO 400 RPX film which I received as the present from Moscow earlier.
I have five rolls taken and developed. I decided to use fresh stock RC 8x10 Ilford paper to print.
So far, I printed two dozens or so. And would like to show some of them here. This was first print batch.
One of our daughters made two comments after checking prints today.
№1. "It looks better than Canon (digital stuff), paper must be expensive."
№2. "Moscow looks sad."

Person on the right is impersonating Putin. He was on brake, but still managed to tell me "Russia, move on!".
Whom this pedestrian was impersonating? Or was he?
Last picture was taken by the Moscow Hotel near Read Square.
Back in 1991 we celebrated our Rocket Scientists diplomas at the balcony restaurant in Moscow Hotel.
One of us was saying this - "do you realize, we would never see each other again"...

Hehe, There are several "official" Putin body doubles used, some you can tell they are not the real McCoy very easily but all look more "Putinesque" than that fellow you photographed.
Heck, even James Bond actor Craig Daniels would make a better Putin double with the right make-up.

I am sure Lenin had body doubles in his time, Stalin had several official body doubles and speaking of Lenin or Lennon, so did the Beatles.
I recently watched the 1966 John Lennon film "How I won the War" and around 80% of the Lennon acting scenes were done by a John Lennon double.
But that is nothing new, as late in that same year (1966) another body double, a genuinely musically talented one at that, replaced Paul McCartney and that guy is still playing the part of Paul McCartney 50 years later... and to great success I might add, that even the real Paul McCartney would have had a hard time topping him.

Two following pictures have common things. Obviously, reading and something which came to me later.
Wool flat cap it is very common.
I think it is common from Lenin and famous Soviet goalkeeper Lev Yashin. One of my sport teammate used to live in same apartment building were retired Yashin was living. Or it is just easy to wear, most likely.
My last wool flat cap was purchased at the end of nineties in Moscow. According to its label it was made in Canada...
I have another stories about book in first photo and window view on second one. If anyone is interested, let me know.

So one is reading a book on Chess. Must be openings theory. The other looks like a newspaper, and perhaps the chess column there from your hint about something else in common....

One is the Chess theory book and in another it is crossword. Both have squares and both are taken on the train.
Chess story... It was very popular in seventies and eighties. Many boys have played and men. I played, but it was primitive. And my father played. Every tourist camp we would go in the summer, first days he would play Chess with anyone who wanted. He was playing until everyone loss to him. One day after work he went to new, build for Olympics, sport center near home to meet players at local Chess Club were most advanced players meet. He came very late and told us what he didn't joined the Club, because he won to all of them... One day, back in eighties he called Karpov "a puppy"....
Another illustrated story from this trip. I went to purchase memory card for Leica M-E at small photo printing store in the indoor plaza near the local subway station. On the receipt I checked at home the name of the store is "Plenki.net" ltd.
It means something similar to "Film is gone".
I printed another fifteen 8x10 yesterday, seventy sheets almost gone and it looks like I will need at least another 25+10 pack to finish with this trip candid, street pictures prints.
Film is gone.

North Port.
Moscow has two river ports. South port and North Port. My parents place isn't far from the north one. They took me where many times...
It is still the same, parents with kids on bicycles.
This part of the port is dedicated for cruises.
Electricians are talking how they have to work for six days and no brakes.
Smell of deep, fresh water in this place is something I consider as smell of motherland...
You could see on the last print the result of dropping film cassette from the camera on the asphalt, only few first frames were affected.

At "Sokolniki" station. No idea why this kind of table was where. According to the plate, Moscow metro is Lenin Metro. Named in memory of him. Opening was in May 1935.

I have seen many people from Europe in this place and some other places. It is relatively cheap to visit, but language is still the barrier. I was helping two young tourists from China with purchase, because lady in the museum store wasn't speaking English.
