Mamiya 6 75mm Lens Problem

Hey all, I could use some advice on this, as I've poured over the forums and searched for this specific issue but can't find any help.

I have a Mamiya 6, with a 50mm, 75mm and 150mm lens. The body works great, everything is clean and solid. The 50mm and 150mm lenses work fine, as expected. But the 75mm, which used to work no problem, seems to have been stuck. Clicking the shutter release button does nothing, no picture taken, no nothing.

It feels like it's the same thing that happens on Hasselblad lenses, where you have to "reset" the lens, by winding the thing with a coin. Is there something similar for these lenses? Or is it maybe an issue with the lens contacts? I've inspected the 75 and 50mm's side by side and things seem to match up.

Any ideas?

You can clean the lens contacts with an eraser. There is also a metal lever at the back of the lens that resets it when you wind on. You can do that manually with the tip of the pencil.

Just tried with an eraser, no luck. Which metal lever do you mean? The black ones that moves in a semi-circle? It's currently in the same position that the 50mm one is when I take it off the camera.

Move it up, it should click at the top of the circle (if not set properly) and return.

Thank you. That did it. I was always too afraid to push that past that first bit of resistance.

Next question; I have a real slight delay between pressing the button and the shutter firing, only on that 75mm lens. The 50mm is near instant, the 75mm has about a 1/4 second delay before it fires. Any idea why that is?

Have you replaced the batteries lately? If the batteries die during an exposure, you need to manually reset the lens. However, I have never had any delay with any of the lenses either with my 6 or 6MF. (My batteries have only died on a bulb exposure on a cold night - that is where I learned the secret.) If it is not the batteries, or body or lens contacts, then you are going to have to find someone to look at it.

The batteries are nearly new. That was the first thing I tried before I figured out that it was just the one lens that was the problem.
