Dear M7 enthusiasts,
I posted this earlier on the Mamiya 7 fb user group, but found it useful to post it here as well.

It’s clear that there is a strong interest for the reproduction of the plastic Mamiya 7 (II) body parts. I’m talking about the top plate, the bottom plate, and the front nose surrounding the lens mount. With a fair bit of luck, I found these M7 body parts brand new, from an old Mamiya spare part stock. The parts are in pristine condition, making them perfectly suitable to draw 3D scans from.
You can find 3D scans on the internet for the Mamiya 7II, but these cost 150 euro if you want to use them for printing purposes. That’s rather expensive, and as said they are only suitable for the M7II, not for the original M7.
I’m in contact with a 3D scan service in Belgium that can make the scans at high resolution and high precision, all you need to make a perfect copy!
3D scans for all 3 parts and shipment will cost 750 euro (VAT included). Once you have the scans (stl file format), it’s up to you how you want the parts to be reproduced: all sorts of plastics, aluminum, high-detail stainless steel, titanium, you name it.
Now, let me make this clear, I’m not interested to make big money out of this, on the contrary! I’m interested to protect my camera in the best possible way, at a reasonable price. Next to that, I like the idea that today’s technology can help to extend the lives of many other beautiful Mamiya 7 cameras out there. Doesn’t that sound good?
Please consider the following: if we join forces, we can have the scans made at a fraction of the cost. If we are 10, we can have the scans made for 75 euro. If we are 20, well … you can do the math for yourself.

If you are interested to participate in this, drop me a pm mentioning your private e-mail address. I’ll wait until the end of November, to see if there is enough interest, and we’ll take it from there. just know there is no commitment at this point. It’s merely a poll for possible candidates to step in. I’ll keep you posted via e-mail, beginning of December.

Many thanks in advance. Have a great weekend!
