Anybody around who has used this device? I know it won't give the camera the macro capabilities of an SLR, but is it worth using? Can it give decent results, not too fiddly, all the usual sorts of questions?
It is well made but I think it has limited use since the focus plane is very narrow and corresponds with the wire framing accessory that is part of the kit.
It works as advertised but it's not personally very useful.
Caveat -- Keep in mind that I am selling my entire Mamiya 7ii kit as it just doesn't suit my style -- so my opinion is slightly skewed.
It is a slight pain to use, but usable. Getting critical focus is hard. The two images below are with a tripod, using the wire frame to focus on eyes. I've also used it hand held, just a touch trickier and requires faster shutter speeds to minimize shake. I ended up selling it along with the Mamiya 7ii system as well in switching to Hasselblad.
