A flash bracket is what I needed.
I dreamt this up on a scrap piece of lexan, strong influence from Custom Brackets Mini-RC with a little help from a RRS QR plate to hold it right.
All in all this was a 45 minute project and my first time working with lexan.
Turned out great, clearance is great all around.
The whole assembly acts as a sort of table top tripod, being very well balanced. The camera and lens hover safely above.
Working on a test roll, I don't expect there to be any sort of shadow casting or vignette from the strobe or lens hood.
