Can anybody help me out here and give some personal experience on whether my Mamiya 7ii and the 80/4 will fit in a Domke F-803 (J-803)?

I don't have the 80, but I'm assuming the 43 is about the same size. It just won't fit in there, the lens extrudes too much from the body. You could easily fit it inside by storing them separately, and just carry it around attached when you want to use it.

I carried it comfortably in my Billingham 445 with the 43 lens + viewfinder, with the other gear I was carrying across Europe.

Yes it does fit an F-803 in my experience. You can still fit another M with a mounted 50 mm lens on the other side of the bag, although it'll be a bit snug.

So I am going to have to guess that I could manage to fit it quite easily if I stored the body and the lens separately, which is no problem for me.

I guess I was sort of wrong then.
It is not in a compartment, so it is sitting loose, but tightly.
I'm going to get some compartments however, for when I
travel with it so that I can dismount the lens and store them
very securely and snuggly.

But as for now, it fits. Not super well, but it does.

Have you considered an F3-X instead? That's my preferred bag for the Mamiya. Gives you an extra inch in width over the J-803.
