So, my Mamiya 7 has stopped working. Thought it was a dead battery but I've tried two different, brand new batteries and no juice at all. There's no blinking red light for the meter, shutter won't trip, nothing.

Anyone have any recommendations for where I should send it to get it looked at? For what it's worth Mamiya Leaf is literally just minutes from my house, but I don't know if they are still servicing the 7. Thought I'd ask here before calling them.

I just had my Mamiya rangefinder adjusted at Nippon Photo Clinic in NYC. Great guys, great at what they do. Not cheap, but reliable. They can definitely fix it.

Just wanted to say thanks P.O. Nippon took care of it. Like you said, it wasn't cheap, but they did a good job and the turn around was not bad (exactly a week).

The main switch and the DC converter was bad. So, no meter, no shutter -- kaput. :( Went bad all of a sudden. One day fine. Turned it off, put it away. Two days later, completely dead. Nippon had to replace both parts (switch and converter).

What was wrong, Kev?

Sorry to jump in but I am having the same problem. Could you please tell me how much it cost to fix? Many thanks Peter

Peter,

It was just over $300. Not cheap, but better than having a paperweight.

Turnaround at Nippon was good -- 5 days from dropping it off -- but I'm guessing that's irrelevant since you'll look for somewhere local . :)

That's great, thank you. I have found a place in Liverpool, Newton Ellis Ltd. I will take it to them to check it out. It needs to be done. Many thanks Peter
