My Mamiya 7 requires a CLA, and VF adjustment. I may also need to clean adjust lenses.
Anyone do reliable, reasonably priced repairs, here in North America ?

Do you know Michael Levira at Kiwi Camera Service in Winter Park? http://kiwicameraservice.com/ He does nothing by mail as he only serves the local pro market but if you are making the short drive to central FL, you can sometimes arrange service while you wait.

Or, come to the quarterly Sunday photo equipment swap meet on June 3rd. It is a fun social time.

Precision Camera in Chicago is the place to do it, from what I've heard. I'm sure there is a place or two in New York as well.

+1 on Precision Camera Works. It's highly suggested to send him all your lenses to match up the RF. Every time I visit, he has a few on the bench (6's and 7's).

Do get an ETA first as he can get backlogged.

After reading a similar thread on Leica, I am given to understand that the body and lens are calibrated independently to factory standards. So, the need to match up would not be relevant. This makes sense, as the bodies and lenses are not always sold as (matched) sets anyway.
I may consider your recommendations, and talk to Precision too, since I had intended to send them the body alone.

I spoke with Precision Camera today. They do not do repairs on the Mamiya 7 system, and suggested the MAC Group in White Plains NY. They, in turn, do repairs, but cannot give estimates "over the phone". I am to send the camera over to them- far from ideal, but I may not have much choice...

^^ Hmmm, that is indeed strange. On the home page, there's a pdf article citing they've serviced 6s, 7s, and 7IIs. I know Bob Watkins was out of town expected to be back on Monday. Perhaps his flight was delayed/postponed seeing that many of the NATO diplomats were leaving Monday as well. He is the one to ask. The person answering the phone has been known to be misinformed on prior occasions. In any case, I'm expecting to visit PrecisionCameraWorks this week and I'll be sure to bring it up. Perhaps too late for you, Subhash, but it's still important to get the correct information out.

What are those swap meets like? I've always been interested in going to one (I live a little south of Cape Canaveral), but haven't put forth much effort looking for one either.

The Kiwi Camera Service swap meets in Winter Park FL are a social affair with grilled food and drink funded by everyone chipping in. There is more high priced gear than there are people with money to buy it. Everyone ends up trading or giving away all their low priced things at the end of the day (usually around 3 PM). Big sellers are cameras / lenses / lighting equipment in the $100-$400 range. I did sell a complete Bronica SQA system (5 lenses, 2 backs, 3 finders) and well as a Contax G2 and lens to people who first saw it at the swap meet.

Info on the swap meet is at http://www.facebook.com/events/209976869114699/

So you live in Cocoa Beach then?

To be a bit more specific, I had asked about CLA and RF alignment, to which the young woman had said that they only did "Minor repairs" and didnt have equipment to do what I needed.
I will call Bob Watkins tomorrow, as you suggest. Thank you, and I agree about correct information.

Sounds like fun ! I plan to be there this time June 3rd. Look forward to meeting Bob, and maybe VTHokiEE ?

Just spoke with Michael at KiwiCamera, and was thrilled to hear that they service Mamiya 7s. Plan to give him my camera/lenses at the swap meet June 3rd.
Thanks for the recommendations, Bob Michaels.

Precision used to do M7 repairs. I had mine fixed there a couple years back. Guess that's changed.

FYi...No Kip, they still do work on Mamiya 7s!

Just to clarify, as of today, Th.13.1.3, Precision still works on Mamiya 7/7ii. I talked directly with them on the phone to confirm this happy fact ...
