I bought this DDS. At present there's one advertised on Ebay. It doesnt seem to fit. Its type A and i have super 23's. Wise me up spock!

I would read up on the difference between the film mounts on the Super 23 and the Universal. The cameras look the same but different backs.

There is another piece you are not showing. It is a holder for the DDS film holder. I can't remember whether it fits on the Super 23 or only the Universal. The Universal is a much more versatile camera, and the options on the Super 23 are far more limited in terms of accessories than the Universal. In fact for me, the Super 23 is deal breaker, once you know all the options for the Universal. The only thing the Super 23 offers is the bellows like perspective control for the lens that expands and contracts.

I know the box like back you need for the cut film holders. It's an accessory. Usually an expensive one.

Do you know if you can still get any film in 2X3, or do you have to cut your own???

That's the current large question that comes to my mind.

I love Mamiya press camera's but they can be a deep money pit when you go looking for all the bits and pieces.

The best Mamiya Press in my book is a nice clean Universal, with a 6X9 Type III roll film holder, and the 75mm type P lens that was made for Polaroid and mounted in a Mamiya Press Seiko shutter. Stop there.

This is the focusing GG and holder for the DDS cut film holder you are looking for and it does fit the Super 23. It has the ground glass and the lever on the end opens one end to slide the DDS holder in. It does fit on the Super 23 as is, presuming the Super 23 does not have the Graflok style mount, but the buttons to lock in the roll feed holders.

It is badly mislabled in the listing. It's a GG focus screen w/an opening for the DDS slide. You open the door to focus. Then you close the door, insert the film holder, pull the slide, shoot, re-insert the slide, remove the holder and pull the film in the dark and process for an image.

TFM work for me... use Roll Film!

This is my ground glass back that fits the Super 23, the cut film holder slips in an opening on the left. You can also see the door that flips open and covers the GG.
