One of these arrived in my mail box yesterday. I had never seen one before, but bought it as I haven't had much luck finding a clean Lynx 14 (the Lynx 14 is a somewhat prized camera in Japan).

The Mamiya arrived in decent shape, with it's original case and lens cap. The meter works, and the shutter fires smoothly. The lens is gorgeous, looking much like the 100/2.8 Mamiya lens on the Press cameras.

Side by side with a Lynx 14, the cameras appear similar, though the Yashica is more robust. The Mamiya's two-tone appearance is attractive though. I will have to find some time to do some shooting with it.

Anyone else tried the Maimya Super Deluxe?

Sharp looking camera, Jeff. Somewhat Canonesque, except around the viewfinder framing. I've never come across one of these.

Last prophet of MSD 1.5 were someone whom I remember as Wigwam Jones (forgot his RFF name, departed couple of years ago), he appears still active on flickr.

Looks like my perfect FLRF. If anyone in UK or even Europe has a super deluxe 1.5 to sell please get in touch. I can pay a relatively high price.

EDIT: Just paid $300 for one from Japan. I blame my g.a.s.

I received mine yesterday. The dials feel sloppy (aperture dial stiff at 1.5 and gets very loose at 16). More importantly the advance lever turns regardless of whether I have pressed the shutter button so it is possible to accidentally wind an extra frame without realising. The seller assures me all of this is normal but I want to get some outside opinions.

I have one and the speed dial is not sloppy at all. Furthermore the shutter does lock after advancing the film lever. I did perform a CLA on it for the shutter was erratic and the focus was stiff which is normal for its age
