Jon, I used Kodak ProFoto XL 100. Its a budget version of Kodak Extar for the S.E. Asian market, and is actually quite hard to find in Japan.
Really great pictures, Jon. Are these huts tolerated by the authorities?
Thanks Erik! Kawasaki City is well known for offering good welfare programs for the homeless, so the homeless have been there a long time. Very much tolerated by the authorities I'd say. I've even heard stories of homeless people moving from outside the city to Kawasaki to take advantage of the benefits offered there. There are also vegetable patches here and there around the huts where the homeless are growing food. Even a small flower garden. This hut below with the window awnings faces the flower bed pictured below it. On the other side of the river (Tokyo side) you can see more huts scattered near the shoreline.
