Wondering if its at all possible to mask the unwanted framelines in Hexar RF ala Leica M's? I asked Greg Weber and he says he has never heard of such a thing being possible. Has anyone else tried or thought about it? I was hoping for getting rid of the 28, 75, 135 lines and just have the 35, 50, 90. Or maybe I should just get an M2?! ; )

Considering that the framelines you want to have removed versus the ones you want to stay don't rhyme with the combinations, (28-90, 50-75, 35-135), it's not a matter of just pulling out a single mask..

@pvdhaar - i have heard about it being possible with Leica M's. hence, i was hoping that since the hexar RF has the same combos, it might be similar. i suppose its likely that hexar RF framelines / RF is entirely different from the Leica M's?

I remember reading somewhere how some clever individual silver soldered up the unwanted frames ... I think it was on an M!

Finder magnification of the Hexar is different from any Leicas.. (albeit by a small margin from the 0.58x) so the frameline masks wouldn't match a Konica finder.

The other thing is that I can imagine there are loads of different masks produced over time for the different Leicas, which can be exchanged between models. For the Hexar this hasn't been the case..

Taking the finder apart and closing the cutouts in the masks (like per Keith's suggestion) seems like the most practical approach, although I'd hesitate myself using the soldering iron on difficult to find Konica parts..
