New York May NYC Meet-Up

I'm working against the fashion world where everything seems to be a surprise and the last minute by posting this early before things get overbooked or all booked up.

If you get a chance check out the shots on Maggie's blog that I took on the rooftop of ABC Carpet. Also if you happen to pass a Corcoran Real Estate look for the billboard of the Accidental Icon in the window all over the city. Check out the video of Maggie in the 58.5 million dollar penthouse in the Puck Building just across from Puck Fair on the Corcoran website/online magazine.

It seems more last minute stuff is happening that I can't talk about yet. Tomorrow is a video shoot and then there is this Mother's Day shoot also coming up. These are not paying gigs, but know that the sponsor of these shoots have over a million followers on Instagram.

In January Maggie hit 20K followers; by the end of March she hit 30K. It is probable 50K followers before the end of the summer; or more...

Anyways in the world of fashion it seems everything is at the last minute and on short notice.

BTW in all these promotions the only one where I did the photography was for ABC Carpet. Generally the sponsor uses their own photographer, but for ABC Carpet they requested me for my urban sensibility and my street like style.

I walked past a Corcoran Real Estate on 1st Avenue in the upper 70's and did nor see a Maggie window bilboard. The one that was sighted by a friend was on Madison Avenue in the upper 80's.

Not every Corcoran Real Estate has Maggie billboards it seems.

I think we have to try Sainten Bar in the Bowery. You pick a date that is a Sunday in May.

More Maggie video coming from a site that Cay-ters to mostly Ma-Len-E-als that is huge with a million followers on Instagram. Also a special Mothers Day feature that is separate will be shot next Monday.

This Sunday I'm doing a day-trip to Philly. $30.50 round trip on the Megabus with reserved seating. The ride is 2 hours 10 minutes and Philly is only 95 miles away. I think I'll be exploring Philly a lot this summer.

I'd love to do the overnight trip... hopefully you guys will go that route sometime soon.

This day-trip is the first exploration.

One tourist attraction I would like to shoot is this closed Eastern Pent-A-tench-er-E. It is a guided tour but I think a shooting opportunity.

If I get priced out of NYC Philly is a possibility. About 30% of people who live in Philly don't own cars. Perhaps I'l eventually be one of them. NYC is not that far away...

May 22d is booked for an excursion to Philly already.

There are still 4 more Sundays in May to book a NYC Meet-Up. Pick a date.

Any idea where we should meet? I dropped by Sainten on Tuesday night and its one big room (a little too open my my tastes) and the large table in the photos wasn't there anymore, just a bunch of 4-tops. Man we had it good at Puk Fair; (sad face emoji)

Its Puck Fairs sister bar, they used to have a shuttle between the two, funny stuff to watch ppl get out the bus at 3am....
Spent many nights there, but never on a Sunday afternoon..
 
I say we should explore Swifts because it is a new place and might be refreshing. We could always return to Lorelie's if Swifts is not good for us. Swifts looks to have the big table.

All we have to do is pick one of four Sundays that is not the 22d of May.

We got the place. The outside area seems good for large groups. How about the date. I suggest 15th since it isn't mothers day or the 22nd. The only other Sunday is 29th memorial day weekend.

I have to check; May is a crazy month; but the 15th might be good for me.

Lorelies is our old haunt.

BTW there are still reserved seats available on the 6:50 AM Megabus for shooting Eastern Penitentiary in Philly on May 22d.

So I'm assuming that the meetup is set for this Sunday (5/15) at Loreley's ? Cal, is this confirmed?

I've been pretty busy in the weekends as of late. I should be free on this Sunday though if that is the day.

I posted the 15th a while ago and no one responded to firm it up. I figured everyone kinda got sidetracked with the Philly trip on the 22d.

The New York Meet-Up somehow got down played.
