Mechanical Ikon

How about simply getting a replacement for your K1000? If you are happy with it and can find a good one seems like the easiest thing to me.
And then you could look at an RF camera with out it's having to be your only camera--I think if the RF is a part of your kit rather than the whole of it, it might be a less difficult decision?

Hi,
Thing is, as my K1000 is getting a bit too old (28 years now) , I was looking for a younger one and I ran into a guy who stores brand new K1000 as well as M4-P. It's really hard to believe but as I saw the cameras, they are just perfect so I though I might just buy them both. Since I'm new to this rangefinder world, I will have a look a the M2s if they offer anything more beyond the M4-P.

Hi,

I got myself a new K1000 as I simply can't afford to throw away all the Pentax glass that I collected over the years. I still take indoor photographs but for now, it need something wider and more quiet so it seems that rf fits the bill most.

Day after day, I think the Zeiss Ikon is winning over me. Not because of the electronic shutter being more accurate than mechanical shutter (in fact built in meters very often show they are not that accurate) but because I think Zeiss Ikon viewfinder is the best for 28mm and 35mm lenses which I'm desperate for.

Zeiss recently answered my call for a mechanical shutter rf. Basically they said that Zeiss Ikon has been test intensively in their labs to ensure its durability and the lower battery consumption level leads to absolutely no demand for a fully mechanical rf. So folks, it seems that "purist" doesn't exist in Zeiss dictionary.

Good news though, Zeiss said new lenses could be possible!!! Anyway, I'm kind of very busy now so I have to delay the plan for a new rf. Once I got it, I will share my first impression.
Thank all

Mechanical Zeiss ikon would be amazing, if they can reduce size a bit more, it could be the best camera ever produced, well they need to fix humidity and heat resistance :)
