Medium Format and perspective adjustment...

Thinking about Mamiya Super 23 movements, and I'm curious about the amount of rise available from the rear movement--at least I think it is rise in the sense of view camera rise (which I am aware is made with the front standard). This relates to taking a photo of a barn, for example, and adjusting the vertical perspective. Are there photos on someone's site that show a subject straight on and then using rise. Other than the S-23 and Graflex series, any other inexpensive MF cameras with perspective adjustment?

For medium format, I'd look into a 4x5 camera with a 6x7 or 6x9 roll back. I'm not sure how much perspective control you will get from the Mamiya Super 23, if any--but I'm not familiar with that camera. An old Crown would give you some limited movements, and is cheaper than a Horseman Field camera or Linhof Technika.

I'd also check out the Fuji GX680. It won't give you as much movement as a view camera, but it's got a fair amount. Fantastic lenses. One of the cameras I miss most from my film days. Probably get one dirt cheep these days too.

The Horseman MF cameras are great tools and ad RF on the VHR.
There are the Plaubel 6x9 and the Linhof Color Technika 6x9.

The rear movement on the Super 23 is tilt only. Apart from the already mentioned, some of the 6x12 and 6x17 panoramics have shift built in, and most medium format SLR systems had a few shift and/or tilt lenses.

These usually move only a cm or two in each direction. For more drastic movements at a budget, optical bench 4x5 cameras with a roll film holder will be better than Baby Graphics or 6x9 Linhofs field cameras - Baby Graphics don't allow for much movements, and wide angle bellows for the latter are rare and often more expensive than a entry level system 4x5 complete with WA bellows.

I bought a sweet little Technika V 2x3 last year and it has full movements. Im moving more to digital now and just purchased a Technikardan 2x3 to replace the Technika. The Technikardan works better with 35 and 47 mm lenses otherwise I would keep the Technika V. My Technika V will be up for sale very soon with lens boards and super rollex 6x7 back.
