Here's two from this weekend, goofing around with a "new to me" lens., Zeiss 50/4 Distagon for my 'blad.
not a portrait lens but it close focuses down to about 15" soooo...

Todd, pls show more pics with the 50. I've been hankering for one for some time to give me a wide perspective in the square frame.
What about the different models in this lens - any recommendations for which one to use with a 500c/m?

Whoa guys, I am a newbie to this lens having just picked it up. I shoot with an old 500CM and not really sure what version I have yet. It was reasonably priced at 500 USD and in excellent shape.
I like the square and have been looking for a while at the 50mm or 40mm, this one popped up at a local camera shop the other day so it was sort of an impulse buy
I like the fact that it focuses down to below the 19 inch mark on the barrel, realistically closer to 15 inches , which should produce some good effects.
The lens takes a little getting used to for handheld shooting, almost unwieldly but not as much as the 40mm, the 40 seems longer and has a bigger objective
but if that's what you need then I guess you deal with it.
I'll post more as I develop the films I've shot.

I've bought two Mamiyas (a C330 pro S and a 645e) in the last month, and have been having an absolute blast with them, having never shot medium format in my life before. The C330 in particular has a very distinctive look to the lens I really like, super sharp in the middle but a bit ropey around the edges. In general I'm amazed by what a step up 6X6 in particular is from 35mm, and I'm going to be using these cameras a LOT more.

From my (very) limited experience to date the 80mm on the 645 is a much more "modern" lens, but the C330 at wide apertures does wonderful things with the Bokeh/swirly abberations etc. in the background, while remaining very sharp indeed in the centre. It's a "vintage" look I really like so far.

Greetings to those posters wanting shots taken with a Hasselblad 50mm f/4 lens: the attached photo was taken with a Prontor 50mm CF len f/4, using a red or deep orange filter and tripod. I've used this lens a lot. I also have the 40mm, but stopped carrying that in my travel bag due to its weight, plus the fact that I started carrying a Horseman panoramic and didn't need the 40 for the ultra-wide shots anymore. Still have the 40, though. The 50mm was a favorite lens of Charlie Waite, the landscape guru.

It's a light machine
So glad this thread is still going strong...I'm a private pilot and my wife and I have taken literally thousands of aerial sunset pictures over the last seven years. Two Saturdays ago, I took an MF camera aloft for the first time. Then I got really, really lucky...

A Citabria Explorer... However, this was shot on MF the same day as the sunset, on the ground at Lodi Airport...

ChrisN; Here's one more taken with the 50mm f/4. This was taken at Corinth, Greece, the Temple of Apollo (6th B.C.). Used a tripod for this picture, but had to get permission from the Greek government in order be able to use one in the museums and archaeological sites. It was worth the trouble to do so. I did some searching, mines an older "C" model, bigger than the newer models and no floating element.
